    What a Story...

I read the guys page about the Samuri. Quite the project. I don't think I can ever undertake one of those without some major cashflow, probably double what this guy has... why? Sounds like he has his own shop so the deals he gets and the skill he has probably makes the biggest of differences.

On another note, I took a 1 week road trip with my dad in 1988 with my three brothers... thats right, 4 kids (between 5-10) my dad and all our gear for 1 week in the outdoors... How the hell did we manage that? Every time I see a Samuri I ask myself that...

What's the purpose of the cable attached to the back of the vehicle? How that's going to help?

The cable is there to save the sami in case he loses traction and plunges of the cliff. In reality this thing was going down hill, its just when the pic was posted online, it was flipped over to give an illusion of an extreme ascent. DUH!

Man thats an old pic of chris' SAMURAI heres what it looks like now:

As for spending a ton of money on it, dunno if I agree with you there. I dont know how much money Chris spent on his but I'm bettin its well less than a stock used VX, and to the best of my knowledge he doesn't own a shop unless he opened it recently. Samurais are incredibly cheap and easy to build. I'm building one from scratch for a customer right now, and even with a full tube job, toyota minitruck axles tranny and tcase, Tacoma engine, Lockers, gears, Rear 4 link with coils and a 21" stretch job it will still be well under 10 grand INCLUDING the whopping $400 purchase price. That my friends is why samis are so popular to build.

Oh and the cable is for the winch of the guy behind him, that waterfall is pretty much a mandatory winch hill. Personally I'd rather have him drive my cable up, than try to walk it up that rock
