Heat dissipation for the transmission computer controller

Does anyone have any idea of how hot the tranny computer controller gets? It's covered by the carpet under the passenger seat, so it seems to me that airflow over the unit isn't terribly important. I'm considering ways to make mine water-resistant. One way would be to enclose it in a plastic enclosure and use longer mounting screws to lift the unit off the floor (it's already lifted a little bit, likely to avoid water). My worry is that in an enclosed environment, it may overheat.

I would make sure the case is still earthed if it is normally earthed.
