    no heat or cold heat

Hi guys i havent been here for a while and hope i can still get some answers here My vx heat is giving me a issue. here are the issues

1 when i put the heat on it isn't really hot, id say warm and takes a while

2 when the heat is on the windows fog up really fast and then when i put the defrost on it unfogs the windows but is really cold so i put the heat back on and windows fog up pretty quick.

it seams when the switch for recirculate is set it is hotter than when its in the middle or on fresh air.

I had my heater core changed a few years back when my car overheated and radiator changed as well. also i had a new clutch fan installed. the car doesnt overheat and runs at normal temp and am not really loosing antifreeze.

could it be a bad heater core again??

any ideas its sterting to get really cold outside

    thanks

Could be a thermostat issue being stuck open and not allowing the engine to reach operating temperature in the cooler weather.

Or it could be heater core issue...again.

Have a shop pressure test your system. Should be able to pressurize the system and it should stay and not lose pressure. If there is a pressure loss you have a system leak someplace.

By process of elimination if you don't have any leaky hoses then you likely have a leak in the heater core.

Also, have you noticed your windshield fogging up in the morning when you start it or any moisture on the passenger side carpet?

If all of this is normal you may have a clog starting to form in the core that you can flush out.

Here is a link on flushing a heater core...not sure this is the best chemical to use (looks like CLR) but you'll get the idea.

    Hope this helps

Someone recently had a thread on a similar topic. IIRC, it ended up being the valve that controlled the flow of antifreeze through the heater core.

    Are you getting AC?

I am currently getting no heat, turns out my AC Condensor fan is broken. Finally found a replacement wasn't easy
