    Timing belt kit (Gates)

Has anyone bought the Timing belt kit by Gates? I know they are well known for especially belts and such. Rock Auto has the kit with water pump included for $140. Just wondering if anyone has used this. Also, Rock Auto has a complete kit by AC Delco. The AC Delco kit is $175 I think.

I used the Gates kit from Rock Auto with no problems. Gates is a long time belt maker.

I'm pretty sure that Gates makes the kit for Isuzu. My Gates kit came with the directions that said "orient the Isuzu writing on the belt", there was no Isuzu writing on the belt. Also, my kit didn't come with the new tensioner, just the pulley so you may have to order that separately. If you decide to do it yourself PM me and I'll send you a short PDF that I did up with a couple of hints that made my installation easier.

I bought the Gates kit for my 2nd VX from Carquest for $130.00 and it came complete with tensioner, they even had it in stock and I live in podunk Minn. The only part they've ever had to order for me was a coil pack and they had that the next day! I see those Rock Auto ads and I think to myself, whatever...
