    Ok, it looks like I may have found my leak and it appears to be the drive shaft seal on the front of the transfer case (front wheel drive shaft). But, "tom4bren" was kind enough to post the VX Parts List but the transfer case info isn't in that document! Is there a driveline supplement or something? I'm looking for that seal number. It shows it in the service manual but no part number there either.
    Current caretaker of The elusive 2001 "Pearl White" VX - The last one.

    think you might find your part on Rock Auto dot com. Transfer case is listed under drivetrain
