I used to be an amateur astronomy geek in my late teens with a cheap Edmund Scientific 3" Newtonian. I was always amazed at the vastness out there, and the moon became a gazing favorite.
Recently I traded a friend an old bicycle for his telescope, which turned out to be a real find. A 13.1" Coulter Dobsonian! I've never really had access to a "deep sky" scope and am just blown away with the stuff I'm seeing now.
I'll have it set up at the meets I'm hosting in Fort Meade, so there should be some bleary eyed folk the following morning!![]()
