    Line-X update?

Any news about the LineX cladding adhesion problem? Supposedly they have a fix, but cant find any info on if it works. Anyone have any first hand knowledge?

I don't think it needs a fix. Been over a year, no problems. Even the spot I tore on the rear door (wedged between tail light and door, oops) has not spread or anything.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Mine has come 'Un-stuck' in several areas on cladding.

Line-X san Diego are going to re-do it for free...
...with bonding primer they have tested.

I wonder if having a paint topcoat on the lineX makes a difference? It may "stiffen" the rubber a bit?

Its just not 'stuck" to the cladding.

He knew it might be an issue..hence re-do for free.

I went to a "Line-X" truck meet this weekend...

...hosted by the shop that did mine.

There were two other fully Line-X'd vehicles ... both Raptors.

One was 8 months old..one new.

Talked with Dallas, the owner/sprayer of Line-X San Diego.
He confirmed that they now use a 'primer/barrier' coat on all
plastic that doesnt have a previous factory paint finish.

(Previous factory paint on plastic is a good base)

By the looks of the two Raptors..they have it nailed.
The adhesion on the molded ( non factory painted) plastic was 100%

Also looked at several others with partial Line-X on cladding/plastic...
    .... ALL GOOD.

Mine will be going back to have cladding treated the same...

    FOR FREE

....when I have time to strip her down

So... IMO..they have the issue resolved.

U guys have any "staining" occur on the Line-X at all? And fading issues anywhere? Jo & Chris, U both got the UV treatment on yours, right?

No stain or fading. Still sparkly hasn't been washed since last June other than rain. Gas doesn't leave any marks at all. I did get the uv treatment which makes it shiny.

    I'm a BIG fan.

I didnt wash the ORW for nearly 6 weeks after Moab because I was waiting
to photograph her with a certain model...

Having washed her ..tires are still all (badly) stained with Red Moab mud ...
...but Line-X just came up sparkly with only a power wash.

Gas spill doesnt leave a mark...
.....bird sh * t and tree gum come right off

As for fading... none thats detectable.

    Its good stuff IMO.
