    SPINTIRES now available

Just saw this morning that SPINTIRES was now available on Steam for PC.

Absolutely senseless looking but has some sort of mindless appeal to the simple minded gamer, like me.

Spintires™ is an Intel® award winning off-road driving experience designed to challenge the player's driving skill and endurance.

Take responsibility of operating large all-terrain Soviet vehicles and venture across the rugged landscapes with only a map and compass to guide you. Explore the levels and unlock portions of the map whilst discovering new trucks, fuelling stations, garages and lumber mills.

Collect lumber with the crane attachments and try to deliver them to the objectives. Try not to damage your vehicle or consume all of the fuel, prior to completing the objectives. Use the surroundings to your advantage, you may need to winch yourself free!

The real-time deformable terrain will challenge even the most seasoned offroader. Do you accept the challenge?

Yeah, I got my email from Spintires last night. I haven't had a chance to retrieve my key and download the game, but plan to either tonight or tomorrow. I'll leave a mini-review after a few hours play... if I can pull myself away this time.

Bah., I meant to download it this weekend and forgot all about it. I will get on to that today.... if the US/Ghana game doesn't destroy me.

I downloaded it Friday. Played about 15 minutes, but never got anywhere! I was stuck on my first attempt within the first 15 feet. I think I need to read the directions again to find out what the game is all about. It's definitely not like the demo where you could run around all day without worrying about fuel, deadlines, weather, etc.

It's $29.99 on Steam and Amazon downloads. I'm not sure I would pay that much for it, but to each his own. (FWIW, I contributed £40.00 to get this game off the drawing boards.)

    Just keep repeating "I...believe...that...we...will...win!"

Interesting article on its quirkiness and strange success....
