Bookmarked Front shoulder room measurement request

I'm very interested in the Vehicross as an upgrade to my Geo Tracker, which is simply too small for me; I'm a wide load.

The main squeeze in my Tracker is that my elbow can't fit by my side. The shoulder room, measured between the door panels above the armrest, is 52.5".

According to the specs online, the VX shoulder room is also 52.5", despite being a much larger vehicle. Would someone mind running out with a tape measure and checking that for me? I find it hard to believe it's as narrow as a Tracker.

    Thanks!

    I can definitely relate.....

I think the way the door panels curve outward, right at the elbow area made a ton of difference. It gives you like a notch to put your elbow & lower arm in. I'm 5'5" so this may not be true for some really tall people, or those with long torsos. I'm not sure where the 52" is measured from, in the notch or from the raised part of panel.
(I sold mine last week otherwise I'd go measure it for you).

I was always surprised how comfortable I was in the front seat, it was "cozy" but I never felt cramped or folded up like Gumby.

You could check the "Member List" and search by State, maybe find an owner in your vicinity. It also shows they're last activity date, so you'd only really want to contact the ones that have had recent activity here/logging in.

One more request, if anyone has time. What's the distance from the recess of the elbow nitch to the center of the seat?

I drove a 4runner today that I expected to be roomy (according to the specs, the 4runner has 1.5" more shoulder room than the VX, despite the VX being 4" wider), but they put the extra space between the seats, with the seats too close to the door.

So it's not just the distance between doors, but where they put the seats.

    Thanks!
