    Weird Tire clearance HELP!!!

I just bought a Kaiser and have moved my wheels and tired from the Dragon as my stepson is driving it now. I have shaved the cladding enough that I have plenty of room but I am rubbing at the back of the wheel well now. Anyone else had this problem?

    Yah.

Mine is the outside tread rubbing on the inside of the fender well because of my offset.

I minimized rubbing by replacing all hex head bolts in the fender wells with pan heads ... but I still have some but only in reverse with the wheels cut all the way to the left.

BFH and sawzall will cure the problem. Remove the rear fender liner (black plastic) do a little cutting of the unseen metal, pound it back a bit and reinstall liner...no more rubbing.

Thank you all for the help. I will see what I can do. Any suggestions around adjusting the Torshion bars?

Turning the T/bars will help clearance...

It kind of comes down to personal taste/vehicle use.

Some like a little nose down..some level..some (especially in Cali )..
    .....extreme nose up.

If you do adjust t/bars..index them clearly first so you turn both equally..
...then get an alignment done ASAP afterwards.

    Gonzo,

Are you rubbing at the outside edge of the rear of the front fender or on the inside of the fender well itself? Mine is acutally rubbing inside the fender well & not on the outer edge (there are pix in my gallery of the trimming done on the outside edge of my fenders to allow running 33's with lotsa offset).

Rubbing on the outside is fairly easily taken care of with BFH & tin snips. Deep in the wheel well requires more inventive modifications.

The rear inside of the fender well, closest to the frame.

    had the same problem.

bolt head at rear, bottom, in the center is the culprit. nice tap with a drift and 3lb dead blow will fix the problem. it's just a metal tab under there holding the liner and cladding to the body

    Yea...BFH works well.

Dont worry about damaging anything under there..see pic.
Its a tin metal brace and empty space.

My 'rub' is much deeper inside the well. The outside bar of my tire rubs the fender well itself, just before it goes flat against the engine compartment (but only at full lock to the left ... in reverse).

Minor adjustment to the steering stop would fix that...or some tires that didn't stick out 9 inches.

Since it only happens in reverse ... I consider it a standard VX foible that does not require fixin.
