    gas tank

Is there a difference in the Trooper tanks and VX tank? I have a VX that was sitting for a long time and put new engine in it and the tank is in bad shape on inside. Took it to a place that does work on resealing and he said it was not worth the work to try to reseal, so am looking for another tank. I am not sure what I am going to do as yet, just looking at options. So looking to see what I can pick one up for as long as it is not rusty on inside. I ran 2 tank of gas thru this one with 2 cans of Sea Foam in the first tank and I am replacing the fuel filter about every few days of running, started just cleaning them out after the third one.

Used car-part.com to search salvage yards.
Almost all that came up are Troopers.
One from a VX in Elkton, Maryland.

    Prices range from$200 - $350 +.
Might want to pick one from the West Coast, may be worth shipping if t's rust free.

found one right down the street from me that did not show up first search. They are dropping the tank so I can look at it.

    KAT,

He's talking about rust on the inside of the tank. A tank from the 'dry zone' won't help in that regard.

    Giz,

I can't remember which side the Trooper fill from so even if it fits, make sure that don't bite you in the tookis. The Amigo fills from the left so Isuzu didn't seem to have a preference.

The 98 Trooper that I had as a parts car had the same tank as my VX. I was going to swap them but then I didn't. I did use the fuel pump and if I remember correctly the connector was different.
