This whole discussion is why I was so pissed when the insurance company totalled mine back around Christmas .... & were FAR from assessing the value at what I thought it was worth. Luckily I was able to keep her & fix her back up without losing too much on the deal.

Best of luck Jo on whichever path you head down. If the deal goes down the toilet, mebbe you should point him to the thread on the shop in Aberdeen, MD that dropped the 5.3L in a VX. That kind of custom shop could probably build him a really nice ride out of a beater VX ... if he has enough scratch.
