    Light bar

so wanting to add a light bar to my vx. thought about putting a load warrior rack on and then installing lights to it. but not really wanting to add that much height to my vx. did a little research on the jeep liberty/renegade light bars, and found a few that were installed on a vx. so looking into getting one of them i found this. it's more or less a universal but based off the jeep bar, this one is using an oval lens instead of round. so it's nice and short. any thoughts on it.

The light bar should look decent. There was a UK VX that had a liberty light bar with round light and the setup looked pretty good. I was going to pull a pic for you but it's gone.

...also its a cheap-o kit, so don't expect the lights to do much more than light up the hood.

Honestly not a fan. If you have a roof rack, there are other options. Among them is getting mighty mounts and connecting proper rally lights directly to them. I'm researching also.

Agree'd, you're not going to get much light out of those. Plus I wouldnt trust the double stick tape holding the whole assembly on the roof.

If you haven't noticed I sell some sweet LED light bars that you can get in single row and double row. You can see all of my products at www.ledbarsusa.com and I have a group buy going on for the 30" SR bars right now in the classifieds if you'd be interested in that size. So far everyone that has bought one has been happy. They are also very well priced for the light output you get from them.

not a fan of led light bars. they look good but just not my style. as for brightness of these lights. they use a h3 bulb, so probably 55w but i can upgrade to 100w. that's what i did with my fog lights i installed and they are almost as bright as my headlights. in addition my fog lights are oval so the lighting would be more uniform.

That's cool, if you get them post some pics for us!

I just know that most cheaper reflector lights like those aren't designed well, and won't give very good light output regardless of what wattage bulbs you throw in them. I use to have 2 55w 6" HID lights on my rig and both of them together doesn't even compare to my little 10" 30w LED bar I have now. The light is much more focused instead of all over the place like generic reflector housings which also makes them seem more dim. Also be careful putting higher wattage bulbs in those since the reflectors are most likely made of plastic, it would probably be pretty easy to melt them especially since it's a small enclosed space for each bulb.

    Just my .02 cents!

I have my 10" led bar mounted to my factory cross bars using two oval mighty mounts I had purchased a long time ago. Fits like a professional mount. Looks great too! I'll get some pics of the mounts soon.

This is EXACTLY what I am going to be doing with my 30" led bar. I can't wait to see how it looks on my truck.

When you get to the planet scroll down a bit and you'll see the VX.
