    I would love to take this shell to someone with a 3D scanner so that new shells or separate body panels could be made using a 3D printer! I don't see any other scale VX's coming to be otherwise...

    Unless, of course...some reptile owner, or fish scaler, makes one...out of scales...

    I was wondering about the paint job choices... hmm... SCALES!

    I did some clean up to the body & added some set screws for effect:


    Then I carved in the seam for the grille for some more realism (I think I did pretty good, especially for my first attempt at that kind of thing.):


    I cut the links down 22mm each to get my 9.2" wheelbase on this old chassis I had sitting around. I then drilled in new upper shock mount holes to match. That tire was an old experiment - 2.2" tire cut down to fit on a 1.9" rim. Outer diameter comes out to 3.7", down from 4.3":


    I bottomed out the suspension to locate the body using these temp tires:


    I still need to cut down the driveshafts:


    I had to expand the wheel wells, front & rear:


    Here it is bottomed out for body mount mock up (Lego's help!):


    I ordered some cool tires &... a working scale Warn winch! Stay tuned...
