Not sure you'll find one for these plastic fittings...but could be wrong.
I've never torqued mine...
...just snug..insert sitting even...and without stressing plastic .
All IMO only

Jo's got it pegged, a light touch and common sense go a long way with non-critical fasteners...torque values usually only apply to fittings with a critical torque load...

Those studs aren't very strong. I use the 'Two Finger Torque' method for something like that.
Two Finger Torque = Place thumb on head of ratchet, place pointer & bird fingers together on the handle about 2" (width of two fingers) away from the head of ratchet. Tighten till snug. Even gorilly handed fellers will have a hard time breaking a stud using that method.
Alternate Two Finger Torque = drink plenty of two finger tequila before you get started & then you won't care that you broke the stud & can't replace it.
BTW, Locktite is NOT recommended on those fasteners since eventually you'll prolly need to remove it again.

Put a smiley after you say that Bub.
Thank you ALL! Awesome info. I'm still learning. I've been through 2 hood inserts now, this 3rd one is a new one that I had wrapped in CF w/3 coats of clear. It should be good, but I really wanted to make sure I wasn't over or under tightening the nuts. I've replaced the OEM with M6 1.0 Stainless w/stainless metric washers (forgot the exact number) and love the switch.
I'm going to post a couple more Q's, maybe you all could help.... I'll start a new thread so that it might help someone else in the future...
Thanks guys!

The only problem with that is that the washers are captive on the OEM. It could get tricky to hold the washer in place while trying to start threading the nut.
Why so many inserts? Do they keep cracking or are you on an interitive process of them looking better-n-better?
lol
The first was the original and was cracked when I first got the VX. The 2nd was due to a LIGHT front end hit, where the Weston Light Bar took the damage and nothing else was damaged... except of course a cracked hood insert. I repaired it and it lasted a while but since I am overhauling and restoring my VX, I thought a new one would be best.
So now I'm on #3, which is new and wrapped in CF![]()
Whoa Ty, that looks fricken awsome, nice job! No more faded hood insert for you...X2 on the sunglasses!![]()
