    Vinny,

Here's the link to upgrade the window clips:

    http://www.streetboutiquecustoms.com/vx.html

They may be all you need to fix your window tilting problem. They helped with mine but I ended up replacing the regulators too. I've got an idea on 'fixing' our regulator problem. If you'd like to try it out lemme know.

Tom, I'm ready to try it out. I've been messing withe the drivers for a little bit by making the track wider and forward a little bit more. Fixed that one for the most part but it still catches a little. If you've got a better solution I'm all ears.

I had a shop do a once over with the problems. CV joints causing the popping and front diff slider gears are bad. Yoke in the back between transfer case and rear diff at to much of an angle. Calmini lift was too high I guess. It causes chattering during decel. As far as the engine, I seafoamed and it came out nicely. PCV valve broke the rubber thing holding it in when I pulled out what seemed to be the origional pcv. So somewhere in the valve cover is the other half of that rubber thing. It's never had a timing belt replaced. 112000k. Any comments would be great. I've decided I'm in the chaos.

Also the head nutts? The ones that hold on the head? Like head gasket? Ill try and find those. Can someone tell me where the transmission and engine mounts are or a reference for those. Thnx

    Vinny,

Do you want me to modify the driver or passenger side for you to try out? I can't promise that I'll be able to complete it this weekend (pretty full plate already) but I'll give it a shot.

    Tom

BTW: I usta pass through your stompin grounds quite a bit on my way to WSMR. My very first night in El Paso was at a Ho Jo surrounded by Constatina wire ... didn't get much sleep that night.

The transmission mounts are located in the middle of the cross-member. My VX was missing both bolts and a few of the cross-member mounting bolts too. The engine mounts are on either side of the engine below the exhaust headers.

VinnyBin, I wouldn't drive it with the other half of the rubber pcv valve grommet in the valve cover. I don't THINK that it would do any damage, but there is a lot of spinning stuff under there and that little grommet could cause some serious headaches. I REALLY sympathize with you be cause removing, and then replacing, that driver side valve cover is a major PITA. I just did it this past weekend and that engine bay is made for tiny little hands. The driver side valve cover is basically wedged under the brake booster and getting to the back bolt for the cover requires some serious contortion and unique little tools. It also requires that you sacrifice some knuckle skin to the car gods.

Getting the valve cover back on is also a bit of a pain. The first time I did it I ended up twisting the rubber valve cover gasket up and when I drove the VX oil ended up spilling out onto the hot exhaust manifold creating a lot of smoke, which put a big load in my pants (thought the VX was on fire). I had to go back in remove the valve cover, AGAIN, and ended up having to remove the driver side engine hoist point to gain enough room to get the valve cover back on without twisting the gasket.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need any pointers.

As for the timing belt; it's really not that tough to replace it yourself. NFPGasmask (Bart) wrote a very thorough step-by-step on how to do it. It is time consuming, but very doable. http://www.vehicross.info/modules.ph...warticle&id=63

I've got a brand new PCV rubber grommet if you need one immediately, let me know!

    Here's some good reference material.
There's several different "fixes" for the windows, depending on what the problem is, so here's a list of the detailed threads. (Yes, it's a ton of info, but windows are probably the most common problem issue on the VX).

Download it, it's got every detail and schematic you'll need.
    IT'S LIKE 1800 PAGES.

ISUZU PARTS MANUAL DOWNLOAD - PART NUMBERS

    SEARCH ENGINES FOR PARTS:
Two good search engine type sites for used parts are:
    • myisuzuparts.com
    • car-parts.com

They search many salvage yards across the country, and provide contact info so you can call them.
