Beretta nano

Anyone carry a beretta nano? I am looking for a subcompact 9mm, not a huge fan of Glocks or their price tag. Sue? You are a big beretta fan, any experience with this one?
I couldn't find any bad reviews on the newest version, seems that Beretta fixed the feed problem with the first gens.

Never shot the nano. But, my next gun will be the Ruger SR40c.

That ruger is nice, but weighs 25% more than the Beretta. Plus, the Beretta is in stock at Bass Pro I get a 10% military discount plus the sale price, which puts it at 390ish. Can't beat that! The Walther P22 costs more than that now.

We really haven't looked into the nano. But there's a A TON OF cool accessories for it, which is always nice.
Dave has the PX4 Storm Subcompact 9mm and likes that, but AZ is the Wild West, you can carry just about anywhere, so he has the S/C on a holster on his belt. Not worried about printing. If he wants to conceal it, he just pulls his shirt out.

It's the only striker fired in the Beretta line up, not hammer fired. On the positive side, it won't get snagged on clothing. But we have no experience with striker fired.
We prefer the long double pull or our Billenniums which can be cocked and locked. We find we're also preferring more metal than polymer.

We shot our friends Ruger LCP (same concept as nano, small 9mm, almost all polymer) and it just about blows your hand off with recoil. Although we haven't shot a nano, the kick is the same from what we've read. If I want kick, I've got my "Lavender Lady" 38 special….now that little sweetheart kicks something fierce, as did my Ruger LCR.

Also shot my friend's Ruger SR9c a while back, super sweet. How's the kick on the 40 Billy? At least the SRs have more mass than the LCP or Nano, so may tame some recoil.

I prefer the Beretta Cheetah series ( model 84, 85, 86 and 87) for home defense or carry. They're .380 (except the 87 which is 22LR) and kick quite a bit because they're a blowback design, but we find they're small enough to conceal, have good mag capacity and will drop somebody if necessary. And the 86 is a tip up, so I don't even have to rack that one, it's hot and ready to go.

But MY fav for small/conceal is my Beretta Titanium Tomcat, .32 ACP. (ALSO a tip-up ) It's small, all metal (so yes, it's heavier), but I'm seriously accurate with this little guy even though it's so short, so I figure I can get several 32s in somebody and it'll certainly slow 'em down. And if I hit the mark, they'll get even more than slowed down...

Bottom line, since we hardly ever find the need to truly "conceal", (and I don't conceal, only Dave does…mine would be in purse or a back pack and as they say, if you can't draw and fire within 2 seconds, you may as well just skip it. I'd be digging around my purse for 15-20 seconds, so I'm out! )
We just aren't interested in super small because of the freedom the AZ laws provide us.

Have you checked out prices on Gunbroker.com and GunsAmerica.com? Can usually get a good 98-99% condition for a good discount. I have a standing search on both sites daily for Beretta stuff, and there's a TON of nanos for sale. We've bought guns off both sites, they're reputable. Just make sure the seller has some positive feedback.

I can send pics of the Cheetahs and Tomcat if you're interested in seeing sizes. I have several pics comparing their sizes to a man's hand etc...

The key to hanging on to these small plastic guns is applying sandpaper adhesive so the plastic doesn't slip or move around in your hand when fired. I have it on my Glock 26 and its a tack driver!! Have not shot a nano, but if its mostly plastic it probably moves around when fired. I like a relaxed grip on most pistols instead of a death grip, so the sandpaper adhesive really helps me with these smaller surface area pistols. Hopes this helps!

My two cents as a professional gunsmith, beretta nano is junk but not as bad as some. I think the sub compact plastic crap gun fad will be over someday and hopefully people will find out once again that small revolvers are the way to go. For me a SW J frame revolver takes th cake mine being a nickel chiefs special from the 60s. No safety, no jams, just out bullets in a me pull the trigger. It's small and concealable and modern ammo is more than sufficient. Plus it doesn't make you look like a 14 year old wanna be CoD operator.

I you are worried about kick in a 38 you just need to hold it properly and shoot semi wad cutter ammo, accurate, cheap, and no recoil. Keep the hot stuff on hand for the real deal. Also dump the lasers and crap those gimmicks teach bad shooting skills, two feet away you can't miss and nobody likes getting shot no matter the caliber.

My recommendation would be the Kahr CM9. Smoothest trigger I have tried in a subcompact, way better than the Ruger. I like mine so much I bought a Kahr CW45 too.

My Charter Arms Lavender Lady 38 special I picked up at a pawn shop came with Crimson Trace laser grips. I thought, cool, laser grips. What a joke! It was like a laser light show stuck on hyper mode, just a stupid distraction on a gun like this. So I bought some Pachmyer rubber grips and sold the lasergrips on ebay.

The Pachmyer's cover a little more real estate than the CTCs and the bottom finger notch is much more defined, so a much better grip. Now I have a good firm grip on the thing and almost covered the price of the gun!

I'll def try the semi wad cutter ammo, haven't tried that yet.

Yeah, I like the twins myself!! Thats two S & W 442 Airweight Hammerless Revolvers. One for each pocket, no snags(no hammer) and other than your jacket smoking. No problem!

My wife carries a taurus 357, 2.5" barrel. That gun is surprisingly accurate for such a short barrel. She ranges 38sp carries 357 hollow points. NEVER had a problem with that weapon.
What can I say, I am a sucker for the visual appeal of the SC composite weapons, but I am with Alaska on this one, no electronics on my weapon, unless they come out with a zombie/bad guy kill tracker

Ended up getting a S&W M&P40 instead. I can find 40 ammo at most places, good luck trying to find 9mm. It was quite a bit more than the nano, but I am happy with the purchase, and the fact I was able to buy rounds to go with it. It came with 2 magazines, 3 different grips, so you can pretty much fit it to your liking out of the box.
