We're considering an XV as a replacement for our Axiom for the same reason (fuel economy). Everything I've read says the engine is anemic though - what do you think?

It feels quicker than the 2.5 that was in the impreza. The impreza had a regular auto trans ,the xv has the cvt trans. The cvt trans makes the 2.0 feel quicker. I was worried about what the reviews said about the motor, until I test drove one. No joke, but the second they release a T/C version of the XV (no plans and highly unlikely), I will sell my STi for one. There is just something about that thing that is calling to me....

Is it the 5 door sti? The xv is pretty much a lifted 5 door impreza. It has different bumpers and some extra plastic cladding. I heard from a mechanic I know at the subaru dealership they usually wait a year or two for the turbo model to come out. He thinks there will be one. I was drawn to it too. I drove to the dealership the day they got it and was the first to test drive it. Had to wait six months to get one but it was worth the wait. Shawn

I have a black 5dr hatch STi now. I like the clearance the XV offers and the space is always a plus. Give it some boost I am am game!
