I have to say to the original question. You should have BOTH!! The only malfunctions I've had with my AR were magazine related (used military). No problems what so ever with Pmags. I have a Saiga 7.62 that I converted to an AK, because I wanted an actual Russian gun. Also have an AK74, & a Saiga12. In my opinion they all have their place & purpose. I like shooting the AK's (especially with the slide fire stock on it) but I'd have to say I prefer the AR.
Should we start a 9mm vs .45 debate next???
