    Outer rear axle seal tips?

I will be tackling changing my leaky rear axle seals in the next week or so. Any helpfull tips would be appreciated.

Billy, you doing a fluid change too? If not, just jack the side your working on to keep the fluid from falling out.

Thinking of taking a trip your way next month, if so, maybe we can lift a few if your not in training - John

Billy, I would replace the rear axle bearings at the same time (if they are not sealed bearings that are leaking anyway??).

Axle seals normally leak because there is too much play in the bearings and that causes damage to the seal.

    No worries Bro...

I'm with PK...as long as you've got it all in pieces, might just as well pop for some new bearings...especially when over 100k on tha clock...

Don't know for SURE, but the bearings look to me as if they'd need to be pressed off/on...a mildly educated guess on my part...

And yes, my preference would be for OEM bearings from good ol' Merlin...
