    motorcycle fairing sound system

I am looking at putting a fairing in a motorcyle fairing and want it as small as possible. I plan on using just an MP3 player and was wondering if I could use one of these 2-channel amplifiers: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...9SIA0R80CG0996
Can I get by with just that and speakers and the MP3 player? I don't need that much power, just using this as an example of what I am looking for. I am not a sound system guy so this is new to me and any help would be appreciated.

my dad just went through the same thing on his harley - i told him not to buy an amp because most head units have 100 watts or better to start with split between the speakers - which is plenty to power a couple of speakers that size and close to the same amount that you would get from the amplifier anyways - his sound just fine with no amp - ive went through the same thing on lots of car stereos where the inside speakers ended up sounding worse or no better with an amplifier and an unnecesary amount of power was being used

Ran across a system called Shark Audio and it runs on just an MP3 player, no head unit, ran thru the amp and has two 3" speakers and 250 watts and less than $100, looks like a nice christmas present.

thats basically using the amp and the mp3 as a head unit - for $100 that seems hard to beat you could spend that on a cheap cd player alone

Probably a better choice anyway. With that type of setup, only the speakers would be exposed (which you could probably camouflage as additional theft prevention), and when you leave the bike unattended, all you have to do is take your mp3 player with you and hide the cord.
