No worries Eric, you're doing me a big favor by pulling the SFIFS for me. It will save me a LOT of time and allow me to focus on the new pin assembly

Let me know how it goes and when you're ready to ship. I'll paypal you cost.

Love the look BTW... That wrap is awesome. It'll be a PITA when/if you decide to remove it though. I did my hood with standard decal vinyl rolls (x3) as a band aid until I repainted. It took 2-3 hrs and a lot of lacquer thinner/elbow grease to remove.
Yes the door panels are still very cool. It might be the only modification I didn't do myself. Nice work.

I sure hope the vinyl doesn't take too long to remove. The 3M wrap is warranteed for 5 years to peel off without damaging the paint. My hood was wrapped in satin black and it wasn't too hard to remove- maybe 30 minutes. We'll see...

I've been looking for a slim cargo basket. Anyone know of a good one less than 5" tall.

    Extra cargo space.
Still being able to fit in the garage.

Ive got the same one as Jo, low profile and low cost. Its from discountramps.com, and its called the black widow or something like that.

I looked for that one and can't find it. Discountramps doesn't seem to carry it anymore.

Pretty sure the Thule 696 is less than 5", probably more like 3-4".

    Jo
Jon, are you talking that the rack needs to be 4" from the top of your crossbars or 4" from the roof of the VX?

Don't worry, you're memory is fine and I just didn't post anything on it. I do have a couple pics that I can upload later today or tomorrow.

Thanks Ashley, I was wondering about the Thule racks. I like the idea removing the roof rack and making a mount like Justin did on his old VX. Then height really wouldn't be an issue. I can't believe I missed the rack in Boulder that you posted. That would have been too easy...

I have 5" from the top of my crossbars to the garage door. That basket would probably work if the rack is 6.75" including the roof rack.

That picture of the Widow I posted is definitely not the rack on Jo's VX. It must be the new version, hence the part number ending in V2 (version 2?)
