Without a lot of custom fab/body work a second (separate) roof probably wouldn't be all that feasible. Why? Well, the external ribs on the roof that run the length of the car would probably have to be worked (flattened) to accommodate the external perimeter seal of the sunroof. If that happened then I don't see why not. Otherwise.... meh.
Very strange this came up today... I was just on that Holl/Webb site a few days ago wondering the same thing... spooky.

I have always wondered instead of two lengthwise, if you could stick two side by side with the overhead instrument cluster mod inbetween the two.
I think they sell little ones for vans.

My buddy has the 2 door isuzu rodeo sport and in those they have the double sunroof. One for the front seat people and one for the backseat people. So it might be feasable in the VX too. But lets be honest.....I have no clue, just wanted to give my input.![]()

The channels in the rear of the roof make it a major chore!

So, I'd like to open this discussion back up. I've been thinking about getting a panoramic sunroof installed to brighten up the inside of the VX. With that support beam just behind the doors, do you think it would be possible just to add a glass roof right behind it and have a slide up sunroof in front?
I was thinking something that looked like this:

You told me that you were thinking about trying this project. I like it. The inside of the stock vx is dark and crowded. With only two opening windows, I was think about installing a simple pop-up sunroof in the rear section of our roof.
I would think a pop-up and slide sun roof in front, and a pop up/ removeable in the rear after the roll over piller (mid ). Other member have done the front sun roof kit.
I have a professionally installed electric Holl/Webb "moon-roof" in my VX and I simply cannot imagine having a VX without it. It was $1500 worth of money well spent by the previous owner.
As far as a rear-seat moon-roof, I'd say forget it. Besides the major installation headaches due to the structural integrity of the VX's roof support and resulting high dollar cost, the major problem for rear-seat passengers if the lacking side/outward visibility due to the massive C-pillar. The huge C-pillar of the VX is smack dab in the way of any outward side visibility and makes rear-seat passengers feel like they are in a cacoon with tunnel vision forced to look over/around the heads of the front-seat people and out the windshield (not good). Consequently, the rear-seat situation is not ideal for transporting people IMHO, and thus removing the rear-seat altogether is the best option for many VX'ers by making it strictly a front 2-seater vehicle.

This is what I did as well. I'm going to build a cargo box in the area directly behind my front seats.
I actually made a drawing of what I want it to look like.

Now as far as the ribs in the roof go:
If I'm going as far as cutting a hole into my roof, I'm guessing it'll be easy enough to grind/bend/hammer those ribs down since there would be a giant hole already cut in the middle of it.
With our convertable mod.... I will have to deal with the 5 ribs in the roof. We are planning on leaving 4 of them as is and fill in with addiional support added. I had to flaten the center rib for flat mounting surface for the rear wing & antenea.
I will be working on this top section next.
