    Thumbs up

This is a great plan, and solves all of your shipping concerns. I am glad we have this resource of cool people to make things like this happen. The wheels are ready to go. Now... let's get them headed West!

    Some options now-

The UPS Store - get them to pack and ship, do it all.
Cheapest to do box for each.

If UPS shipped TO A BUSINESS:
    Chicago - Denver: $31 + $8 for packaging material=$39 total each box
    Chicago - Dewey: $41 + $8 = $49 total per box

So it saves about $40 total.....and since we can't find a way to get them relayed to Denver,
it's probably worth just having The UPS Store do it all, make the box, pack, and ship directly to my town (neighbor has a biz).

Greyhound is $53 per box, wether to Denver or Dewey.

Thanks everybody for all your help!

If anybody has any other suggestions, please share.

A recent bad experience with a local UPS Store that overcharged us for packing and shipping. When we complained to UPS they informed us that UPS Stores were independently owned and they can charge anything they like. This store also refused to accept our UPS account number. If you want to be safe go to a UPS Center. They are owned by UPS. This is not universal we sometimes use a UPS Store in another city and they are great to deal with. Check First.

yes, unfortunately, I'm all too familiar with The UPS Store and their corporate structure, etc...

Bought a group of parts from a fellow VXer last summer, including a Thule 696 roof basket. I had him take to TUS to do all packing etc, and shipping...

Here's how the GENIUS "Certified packing expert"/MANAGER of the frickkin' store PACKAGED the stuff!! The VXer dropped it off, was assurred it was all fine, he didn't see it before it shipped out.

Gee....see anythihg wrong with this picture.....cuz the Manager didn't apparently!?? WTH was she thinking leaving the bare metal and plastic exposed??? And I'm SO GLAD they put the fragile sticker on it!

So in one fell swoop that dufus took out a 696 basket AND an OEM roof rack attached to the bottom of the basket....well at least she put some bubble wrap on it...
They paid me for those two items, and I HAD to surrender them to UPS in order to be paid, but as we know, those items are more valuable than their price tag. I learned all about their legal structure independent franchisee etc...

I'm sure Gill will make sure the rims are boxed safely.
