A photo thread for all y'all shutter bugz

Cobra, you can easily scan those in yourself. I bought a really nice Canon scanner off NewEgg a couple years ago and it came with a slide and negative scanner. Not too expensive either, under $200 iirc. That is what you need. And it works GREAT. This is pretty much what I have, only newer:

And Dub, while digital is awesome, no question, for many, many reasons, I still think Black & White looks best when shot with real film (I admit though, those trees up there I posted are digital). Also, I think somehow digital has cheapened photography, at least for me. I realized after switching to digital like 10 years ago, that I lost touch with some of my real photography skills. That is why I wanted to take a step back and shoot some real film again.

I will be bringing about 6-10 rolls of Ilford B&W with me to Japan. Can't wait!

Here's a pic of my new (old) rig. I love it. Works with some of my other Nikkor lenses also. Got a sweet deal on eBay.

I still have my old Minolta X-570 camera...my first "grownup" purchase with money I saved working in high school. I shot mostly in slides back than and havw two binders full of the silly things. Now I use a Canon Eos Rebel Xsi, which I also really like except for a couple minor quirks. Here's a link to my flickr page, and a few select shots of random stuff I've taken over the years. You might already have seen the VX/offroading ones so I won't post those again.

To start with is a much older camera I have. I shot one roll of film many years ago with it...it takes nice pics. And I believe it is still all in working order. I will have to take a better pic of the whole thing...the lens folds in to the body for carrying with a hinged door and bellows mechanism:

Got a little money for my b-day...thinking that the nice Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 lens might be a nice addition for taking even more pro-like shots.

Dub...those are some great shots. You may have a new career in your future. You have a great eye. Maybe frame a few of those and hit up the local street fair!

Thanks Billy, but I really have no idea of what I'm doing...just havin' fun with pitchers...on the other hand...who knows...maybe some day...
If I have any "eye" for it, it must come from what little I know about Bonsai composition &/or flower arrangement.

I couldn't agree more Bart...on all points...
I still have 6 rolls of color & a couple b&w in the fridge...& I'm pretty sure I could find my old Minolta 35mm body.

Hmmmmmmmmm...you may have just planted some seeds...
