    Pre-98 3.2 Transplant

    Hi Everyone,

I'm looking at purchaing a VX with a blown motor. I've tracked down (2) motors:

    2003 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 w/80,000 Miles
This should work without too much effort, but it isn't cheap.

1995 Honda Passport (Isuzu Rodeo) 3.2 (DOHC) w/27,000
From my research, this motor will bolt up, but the wiring will be a mess. Is there any reason why the 3.5's bottom-end couldn't be replaced with the 3.2's bottom-end? Maybe I could even use the heads from the 3.2?

This engine is way cheaper than the 2003. Anyone ever swap a pre-98 3.2 into their Vehicross? Should I run the other way?

    Thanks in advance!
    Eric

For one of my transplants I was using 98 Rodeo 3.2v6 - bolts right on. Used same wiring and coils from VX. I am not sure about 95 rodeo.

got 2001 rodeo on the hoist - pulling engine out of it. - engine looks the same. throttle bodyon 2001&up is electronic, so would have to utilize one from VX - driven by cable.
