If I remember what I have read this is pretty common error. I will do some searches and see what more I can find out.
Trash the CD player....it's toast, eats discs and removing it gives you a nice cubby area (buy a DIN that fits). Several original owners had it replaced under warranty and even the 2nd unit crapped out....not worth wasting a penny on or a minute of time.
