It's the issue of having 2 U-Joints on the same shaft but at different angles ... it'd be very easy to introduce a vibration ... but ... read below.

Dang, I forgetted that (rekin I don't spend enough time under my VX). Having a CV on one end should make indexing the diff work out just fine.

I'm thinking that boot is sorta like a crap shoot (like our axle CV boots). Increasing the angle with a diff drop (like the axle CVs when we lift) without indexing would probably be OK for 90% of us & the rest get a torn boot out of the process.
