Smile workmeistr's screamin' chicken hood insert

In keeping with my Trans-am-esque look, just got the insert wrapped after giving up trying to get paint mixed to match my powder coated rims. I tried two different paint shops and wasted three weeks as they tried to convince me their blend would match "closely," but no guarantees. Frustrated by the whole auto paint industry, I explored wrap options, expecting I would just go with a carbon fiber wrap. After telling a story about how my late Father had a screaming chicken on his Chevy pick-up in the late 80s, the wrap artist went to work. Not for everyone, but everyone stops me to ask about it and everyone seems to have a TA or Smokey story to tell. Take care.

Looks nice. What paint did you use on your roof rack?

I powder coated the Thule 696 and the gas cap cover a color of grey which matched the roof rails and side mirrors. The 696 can be taken apart down to the metal bits; I think it cost me ~$50 with a lot of other stuff I had coated. Given the bugs I collect on the front of the rack, I think powder coating is the way to go on a rack.

(In Church Lady voice) Well isn't that special? J/k Bren, but it does certainly stand out from the crowd. I wonder how it would have looked if the wings had matched the Foxfire?

Not something I would want on my truck, but it does look cool and is very unique. Props to you for doing something different, which is what these trucks are all about.

I like it. I am indifferent to TransAm, but I like the idea of putting a decal of some sort in the hood insert like that.

I know there have been a few that have done it. Including the "head blade" or whatever that guy's company was.

The hood insert is really nice and all but i really like your rims, that color goes well with fox fire. : > it almost reminds me of the warthog from halo 2.

After mentioning the one with NASA decals (I'd seen) on the sides, it was suggested that an American Flag would look good on the insert.

Not sure I'm "down" with the TA chicken tho. And, I'm a TA fan.

Maybe, if you're running a 455ci under the hood!

    Don't forget the shaker scoop!
