Great trail, shouldnt take any mods. Stock vehicles will have no issues

Haha yes sir, stay away from the mud up there!
Just a word of advise because we didnt know any better. When you guys get up to the top and you go check out the mine, stay off the road that goes by the bottom side, its absolutely laden with old rusty nails on the ground. We thought it would make for a good photo to park next to the building, but we were VERY lucky not to have a plethera of flats. 100's of roofing nails.

I don't think mud will be an issue with our current lack of water. Sorry you'll miss this one Jack, we need to do another when you get back!

Mdwyer: I have no objections to a Saturday. Let's do a final tally and see who's in?

    When: Sat July 7th
    Where: Argentine Pass (outside Georgetown)
Time: meet 9 am at the northwest parking lot at I-70 and Morrison exit (time can be adjusted if we need to)

The views at the top are spectacular, bring a camera. It can be a long trail, depending on traffic, so I suggest bringing water and snacks/lunch. There's a few places where it is strictly single track, and I'm sure that's where we'll meet people going the other way, so we will get to play reverse convoy to the nearest wide spot.

PM me if you're coming and I'll send you my cell # so we can coordinate meeting up.

    Michael & Tom,

    I definitely can't do Saturday.

...but I can still make it Sunday if it's an option.

Either day works for me. What traffic are we concerned about? This would be the weekend after the 4th...I don't think it will be too bad, at least not compared to any other summer traffic.

Let me know what your guys' preference is and I'll show up

Famous last words... I don't know how things look on the pass, but down here on the plains, I-25 South was closed last night at Dacono due to flooding!!

Anyway, VXorado and I are meeting up, then heading out to meet the rest of you at the dino lots... See you tomorrow!

Oh ye of little faith! It was great meeting everyone and eventually finding the right way up to the summit. Not that the detour wasn't a fun little challenge

I had a blast and am grateful so many people took the chance and made it out. I think there were at least 3 big cameras and lots of cell phones, so photos will be forthcoming. And thanks for the loan of your fisheye lens...I'll see what I managed to shoot with that and post later tonight or tomorrow.

Quick camphone pic of us all at the summit (13,240 ft on the Continental Divide)

Let me know anytime you want to set up another trip!
