Just bought a '62 Econoline pickup a few weeks back.....same deal. I love a cabover.....once upon a time, everyone made one
Pretty cool there Coastie
Simple............"frontal crash safety"; and resulting lawsuits/liability against the manufacturer's, but I'm sure aerodynamics also played a role in improving MPG. How many Cab-Over design semi-tractor trailer big-rigs do you see on the freeways nowadays???
The coolest cabover design pick-up ever created was the Hot Wheels "Deora" from 1967/1968 era with the surf boards.

this blows, well i hope they make them again. with super reenforced bumpers n roll cages.![]()
Without a doubt, both the Dodge Deora I (original 1967 version) & II (modernized 21st Century updated version with bubble curved windshield) were the most radical and coolest cab-over design pick-up trucks ever created by mankind. Both were built as a full-size 1:1 scale drivable vehicle (only one of each version were ever built). Like our VX, they are forever immortalized as a real Hot Wheels toy car.
