Thats a great deal for someone. It would cost nearly as much just for the gears plus setup. All you need to do with these is add locker and bolt them in.

Yeah I'm tempted... The VX is my DD and I'm a little worried about being over geared. With the 35s, the VX is constantly shifting from 3rd-4th-3rd-4th at highway speed to keep up. I know a re-gear is needed, just not sure how much.

    What Jo say = TROOF!

Also, I'm pretty sure with 35's... 5:38's will put you closer to stock gearing than 4:77's.

Somebody check me if I'm wrong here, but for right now, I'm too lazy to do the math...

Better hurry 'Rado before I do something stupid.

Actually, I think I'm ok - with ~32.5s, I'm right around 2400RPM at 65 (adjusted) MPH. It'll kick down on steeper inclines, but nothing that concerns me.

    Nothing a 5-speed won't fix.

I just threw him an offer. We'll see.

and with the 5-speed, I could pretty much ignore first gear for street driving .

    4.30 to 5.38 = 25.1%

    4.30 to 4.77 = 10.9%

    29.5" (that is stock for a VX, right?) to 35" = 18.6%

So, 6.5% overgeared with 5.38, vs. 7.7% undergeared with 4.77. So yes Larry, you are vindicated.

Personally I don't mind being overgeared a bit, helps turn those big heavy tires, and these overhead cam motors aren't skeered of a little rpm. But my rig isn't my DD either; I am not primarily concerned about fuel economy and such. Even so, I haven't seen much of a mpg penalty anyway.

5.19 would be comparable to stock gearing. I probably wouldn't be able to drive at 120 mph anymore... so that's concerning.

I was writing while you posted. That's pretty much what I thinking, I hate being the slow-mo on the highway.
