I've been using pbase for a few years now. My only complaint is that it's gotten too expensive based on the number of pix I have uploaded.

Benefits:

1. you can upload loads of pix at once if you zip them

2. it saves all your camera settings if that's important to you

3. in 3 years, I've only seen the site down once

4. viewer comments available but not a distraction

5. to share with others, you can send them a link to the picture, the gallery, or your home page

6. allows viewers to DL your picture in S,M,L or original sizes but you can also disable right clicking if you want.

Shortcomings:
