Have you decided which hosting you are using?

I do prefer picasaweb over all of them, they do have a standalone app that you can download that helps a lot in organizing and then you can sync to picasaweb... The upside for me using it, is all picures I take on my phone is auto-uploaded to picasaweb so I always have a backup.
Thanks Adam, interestingly, after I started this thread back a few months ago, PhotoBucket has NOT bombed on me, so I've continued to use it.

I did use picasaweb for a little while...think I was running into storage space problem...maybe I'll revisit it again.

I find that running Chrome browser seems to be the best.. I can't stand slow safari.. even firefox makes me nuts.. too slow.. if you're finding across the board that websites in general are ALL seeming to have issues, reboot (shut off /unplug-wait 30 seconds plug back in) routers & modems or whatever web access you have. For instance, I find about once a month chrome on my mac starts slowing way down, pages won't load for what seems like eternity.. error logs, all the bs.. I reboot modem & router that's wired to the PC (Im wireless on my MacBook) and it's triple speed and runs great on any website..
As far as websites for hosting photo's only.. I use a few, I am a freelance photographer, and I tend to use caution when posting gallery worthy photo's just anywhere.. so I guess it depends on really what you're looking for. Large amounts of storage space? displaying a few great pic's? selling them? all of the above? I use photobucket for daily snap shots not worth $$.. cafepress for selling.. copyright protected..
Thanks fellow Nikonite & Mac-ee.
My quad processor does the same thing you described, Safari slows down after I've not rebooted for about 2 weeks or so. So I have to reboot, turn modem off/on and the wireless Airport also clears. But I've also found I have to clear my history and that maximizes the speed.

I've never tried Chrome....maybe I'll look into that.

My needs are: large amount of storage space, lots and lots of storage space. I have over 18,000 on my Mac now, and over 2,000 on PhotoBucket as of now. Nothing for sale.

Well, I have to admit, just today, hubby suggested the same low tech method ....I replied....pphhffft!
I'm quite sure my Mac can do anything!!! ....if just the operator could do the same.......

I think I'll even do it a little easier way....MEOWMIX....can you please EMAIL all your pics to me? I'll email you!
Maybe break it into 10GB or less per email?
