Question Ball Joints - Upper and Lower

Was going to do my Empi Shafts since my outer boots are split (@ 165k) so I figuired I might as well do the bearing repack, ball joints, and rotors. I replaced the pads with factory parts 6 months ago. Was curious on ball joints though. Any issues with ours and was looking at these from Autozone since the factory ones are 3x the price.

    The autozone ball joints:
    Cheap Junk -
Lifetime warranty with in store replacement+

I already had to replace the autozone lowers twice and the uppers three times in 1.5 years. Might have to do with the big heavy tires though...

I think the quality has recently improved because the last time I swapped out ball joints, I noticed the replacements were made in Japan vs. made in Mexico and I haven't had any issues since (5 months).

It's really not a bad deal with the warranty but I think OEM ball joints with 100,000 miles are better than "new" Autozone ball joints.

So your saying I should not buy these.

I am not planning on it. The cheap ebay window regulator for my wife's Audi only last about 3 months.

Last time I buy the cheap ebay stuff. Good to know about the AutoZone ones.
When it is time for mine I think I will get some made by moog, I have heard good things about them.

The 555 brand is the OEM joint. Until recently they were the only option for the lower joint on the late model trooper/vx joint. I think that it is probably worth the extra money to get them.
