You'll enjoy the Flowmaster....the two are pretty comparable
That's the same one I've got and I think that's my favorite part of it. Can drone a bit on the highway, but I love it everywhere else.

Anyone still have Borla? Ldub was the last person here that confirmed. Just know I love that deep gurgle on start, low rumble on cruising, and deep "braaaap" on acceleration. Think Ldub finally got rid of his recently for a flowmaster or some such.

Yep, the ol' Borla puked out some of it's packing & had a nasty rattle due to internal baffling coming loose.

Replaced it with a Dyno Max Super Turbo & am WELL pleased with the reduction in cabin noise & overall reduction in exhaust note.
She still has a fairly loud growl on acceleration, just not as much, which makes the supercharger whine all the more noticeable...

Same. I have always run Borla on my Subes. Borla CB plus Cobb downpipe equals magic.

+1 on the Magnaflow. I had a muffler shop temporarily attach a flowmaster and let me listen. Then do the same with the magnaflow. Gotta say I liked the sound of the magnaflow better, and I've always been a flowmaster guy. I like them on a V8, but just not a big fan on V6s.
My VX makes me think of an Infiniti G35 when I hear it with the Magnaflow on it.

My Powervault still sounds great - getting a bit of rust though at the attachment points (especially the tip)...

Now if the Vx had a 350 the Flowmasters would sound good.

Jo, how long was your 44 on before it mellowed out a bit? Is this something that happens pretty quickly or is this a several month long thing? Is it just due to carbon build up on the inside of the muffler or something like that? I'm not really familiar with how muffler work in detail. I just know a bit about rapid expansion and compression of the gasses. I've noticed that after just a week the glass pack has mellowed out some....I still detest the sound of the glasspack though. Acceleration also seems to have been reduced over stock

I'm thinking this depends on how much you drive it...

I only put about 3000 miles a year on the VX.

As far as I recall...it took about 3 months to mellow, and that included a drive of 1800 miles to Moab and back.

So..maybe 2000-2500 miles and it was good.
But thats all very subjective ....noise wise!
