I used APR chips in my VW's.They made a pretty big difference.
Alot more boost in the turbos and they disabled the govenor so you could go past 130mph...1sec faster to 60mph and you could turn them off with the light switch when you took it in for service to save the warranty!!
They were closer to $400 though
