Just curious what the Ideas are here. What is your next best choice if someone or some unhappy incident wrenched your VX from your hands? and you could not get another. A Hummer a jeep a lexus a Toyota forerunner with a lift Just want to know the opinons of my die hard VX fans.

Already own a Hummer. I love the new 4Runner. They look friggin cool. I would def get the trail pkg. If something ever happened to my VX though, I would be in the market for another. I've come to love driving it as much, if not more than my Hummer. I also agree with attila. I love the Scouts. I also would not mind a lifted Plymouth Trail Duster in yellow. If I somehow got lucky enough to win lotto, here is my wish list.

    H1 Open Top
    H2 SUT
    H3T
    2nd VX (Kaiser or Ironman)
    Plymouth Trail Duster
    2011 Toyota 4Runner
    Isuzu Rodeo Sport
    Ford Raptor

You two must be near as old as I am to remember 1980 scouts and plymouth trail Dusters. Problem with those wonderful old trucks is they didn't make them with fuel injection and computerized ignition back then.

I'm 29, but look at cars old and new online constantly. Drives my wife nuts. I saw a lifted yellow Trail Duster about 90 minutes from me for sale right after I bought "Betsy." Love at first sight.

Do you like your H3? Does it have enough power? What engine do you have?

LOVE IT! I have the 3.7L I5. Its rated at 242HP. I'm content with its power, although I feel GM should've slapped the LL8 into it if they could've. I've added a K&N CAI and it helped alot, especially at higher rpms. I highly recommend the truck. Its very fun to drive. Although it gets about the same mileage as the VX. If you do buy an H3 try to stay away from the 06' model year. the 2006's had the 3.5L at 220HP and customers complained it was a dog with that engine. Not to mention some were known to have cylinder misfires. If you have the cash get an Alpha. Another bonus is that you can fit 35's under the wheel wells with very minimal TB adjust.

    I would cross this:

    With This:

And then paint it orange mica,
    Or some other awesome color.
But I would forever pine for another VX.

They are both Suzuki X-90s. What I like about the yellow one is practically everything and what I like about the red is the hard top.
I'd also want the back of the X-90 converted to something like the bed of the Sidekick so that the hard top could be removed and it be like a pickup truck.
But those are just big dreams.

PS: I LOVE Scouts, just about always have.

Good info. I am looking at an 06 and it has a 3.5. I will take your advice and avoid.

My answer: I like the Toyota tacoma club cab short bed 4x4 and it is likely to be my next vehicle.

I was actually born in 1987, but I find that it is unfortunate that I missed the cheap "convertible" two door suvs that seemed to be all the rage in the 70s: scouts, blazers, broncos, traildusters, LRs.. The cars then were uglier at the time, but the segment was more creative then. I would like to have a truck with a removable top, like the VX-02 or any of the aforementioned models... Today, the only similar vehicle is the new Murano convertible, but I believe that incredibly flagrant chick car comes with complementary estrogen hormone therapy for the driver.

If not a VX, I would have to locate a fully restored 1st Gen Ford Bronco with a small block (302) V8.
