After working on metric bikes for too many years, I have several hand impact drivers. (The kind where you put the appropriate bit in the business end and smack the other end with a hammer!) Works every time and they're cheap. Phillips head screws were always a real bastard on those metric bikes and I've discovered they're no different on the VX! It even got the license plate light lens screws out without buggering them up...

X2...that was always the first mod on any new Jap bike back in the day...replace all possible phillips screws with socket head cap screws...

FWIW, the first time I did my bearings, I replaced the little stock screws, with little stainless screws (harder) no problem since...

Packaging was better than adequate.
Actually the packaging was impressive, very impressive indeed.
My wife saw “jewelry” on the box and was very curious. Little did she know it was VX jewelry?

Now when it warms up I can take on repacking and servicing the front end.

I noticed after I had packaged them all up that on one of the packages, one of the screws had come loose & was rattling around. That's why there was so much tape on the outside - didn't want any of the little buggers to fly the coop.
