Does anyone know how much DB our factory horn is?

Aftermarket horns provide a louder, and often more pleasant sound than stock horns. Stock horns typically have an output of 97 dB. The decibel scale is logarithmic and therefore the sound pressure doubles for every increase of 3 points, i.e. a horn with 118 dB is approximately seven times as loud as a stock horn. http://www.rallylights.com/hella/horns.asp

I have a the horn from a 2001 Mustang GT in my VX. Sounds cool.

while cleaning out my girlfriend's mom's attic this weekend I landed a small AC powered siren thing. I haven't hooked it up to anything but it has a "caution use ear protection while active" warning label on it. Bro-in-law says it sounds like an air raid horn when its on.

Whether its legal or not is the question >:-)
