The best horn I ever heard was on my wife's Maserati that she no longer has.

I would love to find one of those. It sounded sooo rich.
    Happy Flying!

Randy, I know what you mean... My Dad had a Maserati Biturbo... That horn penetrates to the core! I've been searching high and low for one (passed one up that was $45 just for the trumpets.. used). Instead, I just ordered (on it's way!) a 139db horn from Stebel (Italian) called the Nautilus. I can't wait to put it on! It sounds like the Maserati, but with double the power!
If you want to hear it, follow the below instructions...
    Go to : http://www.stebel.it/stebel/index.htm
Click on Products, then on Elettropneumatics, then on Nautilus Series. Click on the Hi-Res link (looks like a speaker). Be ready to turn your speakers down!
I'll post a clip when I get mine installed

The Nautilus is a compact 2 horn unit that sounds good, but definitely not like a Maserati.

The closest thing I've found in the aftermarket is what I have on my VX. This:

Agreed... FIAMM is the brand that makes the horns for Maserati. The Stebel is just more powerful, almost truck sounding. I can't wait to hear it live! I just hope I'm not disappointed...

After going through MANY styles of air horns and high powered electric horns, I ended up with these:

They are inexpensive and yet, very effective. Plus, they sound good.. very BMW-ish.
