    Thumbs up Gatorbacked my cladding

I had the opportunity to Gatorback my cladding this week. I purchased Mike Nomy's leftover cans of Gatorback Black. It was money well spent. Very easy to apply and I think the results are great. The biggest surprise is how the cladding felt after the Gatorback was applied. I was expecting it to feel as if it had been painted. Instead, it seems that the product "soaked in" to the cladding. It doesn't feel like there is a layer of anything on top of the cladding.

I have a few cell phone pics to share, I apologize in advance for the quality. I'll see if I can snap some with a better camera next week.

Here is a shot of the untreated passenger side. Cladding is faded and has an uneven look to it.

Here is the treated driver's side. Muy Bueno! Color is even and is a satin black. (picture is a little washed out)

It rained the next day. As you can see the product does not wash off and water beads up nicely.

Overall I feel it was money well spent. I received a few compliments on the truck at work this week. People wanted to know if I had replaced all of the plastic around the bottom. They were surprised to hear it was from a spray can. I have a few spots that need to be touched up but overall it seemed to apply very evenly. I applied 2 very light coats and used 2 and approx 1/8th of a can to do all of the lower cladding.

Any questions please ask! I may not get a chance to respond until Monday though.

Looks really good. The color is spot on IMHO and does not appear to alter the texture much at all.

I have a couple gallons of that stuff.....we did "authorized" Chevy redos on Avalanches and Escalades ( we did a few Rav-4s and even an Element) When we sold the shop, I kept the Gatorback. I have the product that needs a spraygun and compressor rather than the rattle cans, but it's the same stuff. It was developed in Melbourne Fla. to fix Chevy complaints. It will last at least 4 years that I know of 1st hand.....and that's in Fla with the heat etc.
    Good product
***we shoot it thru a Binks #7 spraygun.....I wouldn't use a Sata or anything good
