This recent CL ad shows another non-OEM roof rack. Might give you some ideas. It came with the VX, the seller didn't make it so he didn't know the details about it.

The main problem with aftermarket crossbars is that they (IMHO) don't look right.

What's interesting is that the aftermarket bars that "don't look right" (I agree by the way) are actually much closer to the bars that Isuzu chose for the JDM VX's.

That looks way weird to me, the height of the towers is one issue, but then the overall look with a basket is even worse....IMHO....obviously there's various ideas of what looks "good".
