I am now the owner of a...

...Wagoneer Dana 44 front axle for a SAS. Step one (of many many slow steps) is complete. I plan on stripping it down, repainting it, replacing anything that needs replacing and then it will go into hybernation until the rest of the parts collection is completed....think loooooonnnnnnnngggggggggg term project.

Isn't that axle quite a bit wider than ours? Why not just get an Isuzu 12 bolt Dana44?

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

About 2 inches. Will probably run 1 inch spacers in rear and wheels with a bit more rear spacing.
Ah, $50 for the 44 and way more parts available!

Not too shabby for $50... now the work begins... at least after you get all the parts together

    Thats funny Billy!
Good luck with your project! Better be done before MOAB 2013. Saw you may be missing 2012. Good luck with that venture also!

Measured the axle today....stock VX WMS-WMS 62" the waggy 44 64". Just as I thought from eyeballing it.

Going to start searching for a 92-95 Trooper tcase to drop the revolution gears in and get rid of the TOD case. Hopefully be able to find one in the local yards for cheap. Then I will learn to tear it down to put the gears in!
