That's what I'm saying! Sue, you'll have to give me a lesson on how to copy smileys.

"The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong, it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair."
-Douglas Adams, Mostly Harmless
If none of my "smiley" websites I have bookmarked have the emoticon I'm after, I do a google search. In the search results, if I find a smiley used in a forum (any forum), I just "copy image address", paste it in your response with after it.
Not sure if this always works, but it usually works for me. Problem is it will become the blue box with an X in it, if the original source of the image goes away.

Remember that life is not measured in the breaths you take, but rather in the moments that take your breath away.
First, create a folder on your 'puter called 'smileys' (or name it 'crap i wanna share with KAT' or anything else that you want). Any time you run across a smiley that you want to save, just right click on it, then click on 'save picture as' & save it to your smileys folder. Anytime that one of your collected smileys is apropo, just click on 'Manage Attachments' in your response. In the 'Upload File from your Computer' section click on 'Browse' and select the appropriate file from your collection.

I actually prefer not to download the free smileys, from anywhere.......even though I have a Mac {turn on stuffy British accent} and we all know it's vastly superior to those lowly PCs, {accent off} I'm still super cautious...having had my last PC totally fubar'd by spyware & malware.....and thus, bought a Mac! I do bookmark them all for ease of use.
Just ordered the new iMac yesterday.......I'm a wee bit excited about it....
Sue,
I don't download smileys from sites that are set up just to distribute smileys (& the associated malware). But I figure it's pretty safe to grab them when I see them in forums & such - I just grabbed your 'wee bit excited' smiley for instance.
I have no response to the rest of what you said ... other than:
