    Talking Hidden Frt receiver/winch mount

    Finally got it done....

    Hidden 2" receiver/winch mount...

    Pics are here
    http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/sh...php?photo=2501
    http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/sh...php?photo=2503
    http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/sh...php?photo=2502

sides are made from 3/16" steel
center is made from 2-1/2" 1/4"square steel
The receiver is flush with the front cladding and can be hidden by the front plate.

Aside from being able to use the receiver to add a bike rack, front carrier, hitch, or any other gaget to fit the receiver, you can use a winch with a 2" receiver mount. (on the rear too if you have the rear hitch)

This gives you the option to bring the winch along for the 4x4 adventures or leave it in the garage for the road trips

Also, in the future, I may make/sell a tube bumper that uses the 2" receiver as a mount (removable) and has a receiver extension to still allow the use of the 2" receiver

I had 10 extra sets made just in case anyone here was interested...
Finished cost is $150 + shipping

for those that have access to a welder, unfinished/unwelded kit would cost $75 +shipping

    e-mail me if interested...

With a front plate that's REALLY hidden, and very cool! Nice job.

    Installation

    BigMeatVX,
You, must be a Trekie "gone where no other has before" or just a VXer. Trust me not much difference.
    Great ingenuity!
    Is it easy to install?
Not sure how it would look, but can I add a go rhino bar for protection?

If you can get a hold of one, can you please attach it and post a pic for us?

    Thanks,
    Mercer

Looks like it replaces the tube bumper behind the cladding? It is a complete bolt on?

Your right... it replaces the wimpy tube bar behind the cladding

And YES it just bolts right on...takes 1-2hrs depending on tools and abilities.

I'm also intersted in one... Let me know the shipping to 44022. You wouldn't be able to move the reciever portion over so I can leave my front license plate on? I think BBVX did that...

You can always get a receiver "plug" that has a licence plate frame built onto it....then you can leave the plate in place....or temorarly remove it for winching or other purposes.

I'll find one and get a pic up of it....

I don't have a paypal acount yet, so postal money orders
    will work.

I will check on the shipping $ for those interested and contact you via e-mail shortly...

    Allan,

Nice job on the bumper... I'd pick one up too if I could. Anyway, the middle of the bumper wouldn't be supported anymore would it? If I recall correctly, there are/were two bolts behind the license plate that secures to a metal bracket that is behind the bumper skin and secured to the factory bumper. Wondering if your bumper has privisions for those two bolts. Hard to see in those pictures.

Nice one though. Would love to pick one up... but my hands are tied. How hard or how likely will it be to make one more later on down the road if my fortunes change?

    Hi Allan,

Finally getting around to putting the lift kit and BIG MEATS on the VX. Also getting it ready for winter and would love one of your front hitches. Do you have any of them still available? If so, please quote shipping to 48178

    Thanks,
