Mystery black goop.. what is it and where to get some?

Hrrm... butyl rubber eh? Just doesn't seem to have the same properties.

I first encountered the stuff as an adhesive for aluminum speaker grills on Radio Shack Minumus 7 speakers. I know ppl in this forum MUST know what I'm talking about. Ldub... I think he ran Minumus 7's for a bit.

I know exactly what you're talking about, & I'm still using the gutted min 7 enclosures as my rear speakers.
I remember Chopper referencing it in a post in the long ago, but can't remember if it was beautiful rubber that he was talking about. Seems it's commonly used in body shops...maybe shoot him a pm.

paper release...thats the stuff, there's no stick-um on the back , its just to prevent it from touching itself....

So...THAT'S why Mom always dressed me in paper shirts....

Might even give new meaning to Paperback writer by the Beatles...
