Bookmarked I bought new tires and they have like a white powder on them

I bought new tires ( Michelin LTX A/T2 /P265/60/R18 ) today for my vx and they have like a white powder on them stuck to the tires. I washed with soap water , tire cleaner , engine cleaner foam , rubbed it with brush , but after they dried the white powder was still there !
Any suggestion how to get ride of that white powder from my new tires ???

Are you sure its powder? Are they white letter tires?

    Cool

Try westleys bleche white, it's available at most automotive parts stores.

x2, I found out how white lettering is done with the Kevlars. The tire is actually white, and black painted over the white, shave the outer black off and voila, white lettering. If there was some kind of overspray when they did the white...well, you see where I am going with this.

I'd like to see a pic...
Could the outer layer be oxidizing due to where they've been stored or atmosphere?
I had those exact tires on my 4Runner, and I believe they came out in 2007, so they really shouldn't be that old....plus they were like the #1 tire according to TireRack reviewers for awhile, they've sold zillions. But just a thought, a WAG really.

My guess would be a bit of excess mold release compound that is part of the manufacturing process.

It happens a lot with michelin tires.. Nothing to be worried about.. At the shop we use diluted purple power.. Just be sure to rinse well after

X2 on the purple power, be sure not to get it on cladding or the paint. If you do, keep a wet towel close to wipe it off.
Spray the tire down, scrub it down, and then rinse it with water.
Just don't let it dry before rinsing with the water. and be sure to rinse any off the wheels that will have gotten on them.

    X2

But this info gets you no closer to removing said residue.

If you can live with it, it will go away on its own in a month or 2.
