Man those new R6's are beautiful! The originals were awesome but they improved them by leaps and bounds.

    Yeah, its my 3rd R6.

The blue one behind that one, WAS mine, but I sold it to a buddy.

Then I bought a brand new 2006 R6 (Raven black) and totaled it (cold tires and gravel do NOT mix).

    Then I bought a brand new 2007 R6

I really like the newer 2 over the first one that I had. Its alot sportier. Fly by wire controls and better fuel management. Although my Wife complains that the passenger seat was better on the old blue one. Then again, once she became a Mother, she is no longer a rider.

I was turning at a stop sign. Slowed down and was only moving fast enough to keep my balance. Turned right and the wheel kicked out from under me and then snapped back throwing me over the handle bars. The torque of the handle bars yanked my shoulder out and left me with a separated shoulder. It was that same torque that left a dimple in my frame. That dimple caused Progressive Insurance to total my bike. Total vs. repair was $400 and they wouldnt let me pay the difference. I now have Allstate insurance.

I always wear a padded jacket, helmet and gloves. All of which I believe helped reduce the damage that was done to my body. My gloves were all tore up and my helmet had some dings.

    Can I play, too?

It may be 10 years old now, but only has 15,000 miles. Get's 50+ mpg, and is more fun than my old body can handle. I really should have a cruiser for my bad back, but it's just not in my character.

    MarkB..question

    >>>St. Pete, $3.49... and honestly.. I'd threaten my boss for a raise to pay for gas for my VX before I'd drive anything else.. MarkB, I was told there are places in Lakeland to go off roading.. Im not finding anything local Tampa Bay..any places you could recommend?

You guys have always had considerably cheaper gas than we do in Canada--where I live, one of the cheaper places I've found, it's sitting at $1.099/L. That works out to about $4.16/gal. My family pays closer to $5. That's for regular, not premium. I'm always stunned at how cheap it is to drive south of the border.

Hiredgoon can you point me to the gas station that you fill up at?
I went to the very last drop of gas left in my tank, hoping that the rediculous gas price(CAN$1.159/USD$4.41) in calgary would have dropped to a normal resonable level. I ended up having to fill up in Canmore at $95.00

Man - you've got cheap gas over there - I'm paying upwards of $160 a tank here, and drinking my coffee black. No more jaunts to the shop for a single item.

I fill in Drumheller, where it's typically around $1.059, but gets as high as $1.159 depending on God only knows what. I suspect that driving that far will negate the money you are saving on fuel. It's worth buying a Costco card to buy gas there though, it's typically 3-5 cents cheaper per litre.
