    My kitties

Some pics of two of my kitty kats.

I've got two "polydactyl" cats, means they have extra toes. Some call them "mitten" cats. It's just a genetic defect, doesn't affect them in any way. Had another, but lost him about a year ago to a coyote. I think they're way cool, so I seek them out.

This guy Toby has 2 extra on each front, so there's the 4 normal, 2 extra, then the dew claw is down in line with the toes, instead of being up further on the paw....so that's 7. This guy looks like has a whole side car attached to his paw! He's got 1 extra on each rear paw.

p.s. to Ebenezer...I had to point a Beretta at him to pose like this.....

Toby & Kirby (Kirby is an official Maine Coon). Kirby only has 1 extra on each front & rear.

This picture is so freakin awesome. Just hilarious. I don't know why, they just have these 'looks' on their faces...both of em. Love it.

    Here's my gormet kitty:

    She's a little effer.

Cool Bart, Cornish Rex? I've only seen them at a cat show once, never really up close in person yet. Is that a poly paw?

Looks like he/she's saying "oh no, not the sun, I'm melting! Must take cover!"

For last 25 yrs or so, I've had 7 cats (rotating as they passed away, get another). But down to 5 now... Only the one in the pic with the Pom ever goes out. He LOVES this country livin', man he eats so many mice, and brought home a partially eaten rat 3 days ago...(oh Dave dear, Kody has something for you!) Luckily all my cats and my 4 dogs get along, it's great!

Yup, she's a Cornish Rex, and no, that just a normal little stinky marshmallow paw. And she LOVES the sun. She lays on the patio all the time in the summer.

Cat looks REALLY happy that the pom is in her house! And its ok to point a Beretta at them cause cats need a little stress now and then. When I come home from a hard days work and see them laying upside down without a care in the world I just want to smack em good. but I don't.

This is what I mean. I took this picture a few minutes ago after I got home from work. He lays in my chair where I surf the web at my laptop. I wanted to get on VX.info and I can't I have to pick up my laptop and go to the couch where I am right now. Bad kitty! (I sometimes just spin the chair and gets the idea...he hee hee)

Oh, that happens with our weird Blue Russian and here's how hubby solves it.

This cat is named "Tazbollah". Here's how we got the name:

Got him when somebody sent me an email at work, saying some guy was driving around with him in a box and had to get rid of him by that night. So I say OK, it was right by hubby's office, so he met up with the guy.

Seven month old cat WAS in a closed box, had pee'd all over himself and the box. Hubby brought him home, first thing, I take him into shower. OK, that freaks him out, claws the crap out of me.

Next day got his boys snipped off. For the next month he bit & scratched us and attacked most of our other animals. His father was a ferel cat, so maybe that's why he was so wild & mean??
So we thought Tazmanian Devil was a good name.

During this first month, the news was reporting there was a conflict in the Middle East where Hezbollah was attacking Israel, unprovoked. (This IS NOT a political statement or opinion...I have NO opinion here, just commenting on how we noticed this cat was doing the same thing to our other animals.) So we decided to name him "Hezbollah".....

So about one month later, I did something I've never done, had him declawed. He came home like he'd had either a brain transplant or a lobotomy.....and was so sweet!

Decided Hezbollah wasn't that PC, so we combined it at arrived at "Tazbollah".....Taz for short.

Ever since he's been the coolest, weirdest cat we've ever had. He still stalks the other animals from around corners but he's just jumping on them playfully...but most haven't forgotten that first month of his reign of terror on them, and take it way too seriously and run away. He howls at night and wanders around the house with his play mice in his mouth. And he loves my husband to death!!!

Very interesting Sue. Good looking cat (and husband). When I try that...I ever so gently lift him and bring him to another place to lay and he just gets up and walks off. but I feel guilty booting him out of my chair. I deal with pets all day long. It is my profession. http://www.lighthousepet.com/index.html

I remember you said you were a vet. As a kid, I always wanted to be vet...until we put the first cat to sleep....said, nope, can't do that...I cry at the drop of a hat. Interesting story...last year we took our dog in for something minor. Our female vet came in room and was crying, and kept apologizing but she'd just had to put down a favorite client's cat....it was so touching, I felt bad for her because she was trying to be professional.

Euthanasia is not easy. I have somber sad feeling of finality when I euthanize a pet. Some days I feel like Dr. Death. The worst cases are when it is a kids pet - like a7-10 year old kid. the worst.. And the most emotional are putting the old pet to sleep that is the one that the kids grew up with.
